Mónica Sofia Duarte, WBAF International Partner for Cape Verde and founder & vice-president of the Czech-Cape Verdean Chamber of Commerce, has been awarded the prestigious Trebbia Foundation award in the Dialogue and Culture category. This recognition highlights Monica’s relentless commitment to building and strengthening cultural, commercial, tourist, and social relations between the Czech Republic and Cape Verde.

Monica’s nomination constitutes a historical milestone: she is the youngest personality and the first black woman to receive this award in the 23 years of the Trebbia Foundation’s existence.

Prague – The Trebbia Foundation, a non-governmental organization based in Prague, was established in 2001 and is recognized for its significant contribution to society in areas such as art, culture, civilization, and intercultural dialogue. The foundation values creativity, originality, and dedication to cultural progress worldwide. Each year, the Trebbia Foundation hosts a Gala Awards evening to celebrate significant achievements in the mentioned categories, having already honored several prominent personalities in various disciplines, from music, theater, film, literature, dance, visual arts, architecture, and other forms of artistic and cultural expression.

Mónica Sofia was warmly greeted by First Lady Dagmar Havlova and Cardinal Dominik Duka. The award was presented to Monica by Reverend Leoš Ryška, director of TV NOE, film producer and priest, and by the President of the Sotavento Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Marcos Rodrigues.
