The World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF), an affiliated partner of the G20 Global Partnership of Financial Inclusion (GPFI), signed an agreement with the European Brand Institute (EBI), an affiliated partner of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), on 14 November 2019.  The aim is to support companies worldwide—particularly those in developing countries and countries with economies in transition, with the primary objective of maximizing companies’ value and sustainability through effective and efficient brand management and to promote the investment in brands. The signing ceremony was witnessed by high-level representatives of UNIDO and FEMONZA at the Fairmont Monte Carlo.

EBI will deliver a masterclass on ‘Smart Investment Strategies in Brands for Better Company Valuations’ at the World Congress 2020 of the World Business Angels Investment Forum, which will take place on 17–18 February 2020 at Swissotel The Bosphorus Istanbul.

Baybars Altuntas, WBAF President says, ‘As an affiliated partner of the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI), WBAF believes that when investors have had the advantage of training in the best practices of negotiating deals for early-stage investment, they are in a better position to ensure good returns on their investment. Our cooperation with the European Brand Institute aims to increase the company valuations of startups and ventures by providing insights into the power of branding and introducing special techniques for creating robust global brands that will attract more investment’.

The Partners agree that they will cooperate closely and consult one another on matters of mutual interest in order to achieve their common objectives, which include:

  • Support companies worldwide, especially in developing countries and in countries with economies in transition to maximize their value and sustainability through effective and efficient brand management and promote the investment in brands;
  • Develop joint publications and international standards for increasing the efficiency of value driven brand management and investment in brands;
  • Promote branding as driver of improved competitiveness, value-added and market share among SMEs, its contribution to performance and the benefit for investors.
