Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) has taken a strategic step to turn the university into a hub of entrepreneurial education, by signing an academic partnership agreement with the World Business Angels Investment Forum – an affiliated partner of the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion. The University joined the WBAF Financial Inclusion Program for Higher Education with this agreement.

The WBAF Financial Inclusion Program for Higher Education provides the following benefits to UNEC:

  • The WBAF Financial Inclusion Center opens its doors to Azerbaijan State University’s faculty members and students. 1323 students and all faculty members at UNEC now have the opportunity to benefit from the WBAF Financial Inclusion Center for global networking, quality mentoring, and smart finance under the sponsorship of the WBAF.
  • The engagement of UNEC with WBAF opens the way for the UNEC Business Angel Network (U-BAN), which will ease access to finance for startups in the University’s entrepreneurship club and close the finance gap for commercializing faculty members’ research projects.
  • The entrepreneurship club at the university becomes official partners in the World Business Angel Investors Week 2023, which is coordinated globally by WBAF and celebrated every year in 132 countries.
  • Faculty members at the University have an opportunity to use the WBAF Financial Inclusion Center to deliver global educational courses and MBA programs on entrepreneurship, innovation, digital economies, and business transformation.
  • WBAF also supports incubation programmes running at the University.
